‘Keys’ – Original Drawing

‘Keys’ Drawing

Keys have always held much fascination for me, because of the history that can be attached to them and the mysteries that they can unlock, be that physically of metaphorically. This particular drawing was inspired by a frame of keys that hung on the wall of the pub in the village I grew up in, The Plough Inn, Rede. The keys were randomly set out in the frame which was a curious thing to do in my mind. This frame completely captured my imagination as I would often spend time looking at this frame wondering what the keys might have once unlocked, and I secretly hoped that I might one day come to own this frame, or maybe one like it. One day I decided to draw my own version of the frame of keys, it brings me the comforting feeling of being reminded of home and a place and time I love and miss very much. A drawing full of nostalgia.
